Official HIGE DANdism - 'SWEET TWEET'

POP ROCK

Nicknamed "Higedan" which translates to "bearded man" this band has a fun obsession with mustaches. The band members where cute mustache bow ties.

This 2015 song hooked me because of Satoshi Fushiwara's vocals. They are bright and energetic.

The track includes thick and heavy piano chords. But it's balanced with the light melodies and solo tones from Daisuke Kosasa's guitars.

Masaki Matsuura's drums are solid. His kick and snare tones actually sounds perfect for this style. I particularly like the auxiliary percussion of triangle in the chorus. It reminds me of Two Door Cinema's implementation of their triangle to add energy.

After checking out some live performances, I noticed and admire bassist Makoto Narasaki's dance moves. Clearly his enthusiasm is translated onto the track adding funky tones to this dance-able song.

2019 Higedan is also "amazing". I'll later talk about their wonderfully produced album Traveler. Then you'll get the pun. (Hint: track 3)

LA PRIEST - 'Party Zute / Learning To Love'

ELECTRONIC HOUSE FUNK DANCE

Get a vibe going with this track. There will be many, however. This song really has no labels for its genre. Dance worthy.

Pinact - 'Scars'

GARAGE POP PUNK

Some pop punk because lately the world's been tailoring to the 90's generation. This is also a pretty great song. Vocally fierce!

Melted - 'Still Waiting'

GARAGE PUNK ROCK

Walls of guitars. Crushing! Fast tempos for that energy.

"Still Waiting
For the wrecking ball
For the bridge to fall"
For the day to see Melted live.

25 Years is also a good track.

Ziptripper. 2015.

Winter - 'Someone Like You'

DREAM POP ROCK

Fun keys in the intro. A refreshing song with the right amount of dream-pop reverb'd vocals. This is a wonderfully layered song mixed and mastered by Nolan Eley.

Supreme Blue Dream. 2015.

And Summer Club - 'In Your Bed'

lo-fi pop rock

A sweet song formulated by reverbed guitars and distant vocals. Sounds fuzzy.

And Summer Club EP. Ikume Records. 2015.

Craspore - 'Wide'

SYNTH WAVE WITCH HOUSE

A slow, full-bodied track with haunting vocals. Like most great electronic tracks, this one has some well founded low ends.

The mixing's width is spot on with delayed synths. Makes it sound kinda spacey.

Crystal Waves. Youth 1984. 2015.

Dinosaurios Surf Club - 'My bestfriend is internet'

NEO SURF ROCK

Familiar surf drum beats. Dreamy guitars with movement inducing phrases. I also recommend their track Dolphin (ft. delfin).

2015.

Post Modern Team - 'Listen In The Time'

ELECTROCLASH

Another groovy track from Post Modern Team. Riffy guitars and well harmonized vocals may be melancholic, but the driving bass of the electroclash genre and upbeat drums will have you dancing instead.

Tower Records. 2015.

Hanni El Khatib - 'Moonlight'

GARAGE ROCK

Heavy walks. Simple guitar riffs transformed into a full song.

Moonlight. Innovative Leisure. 2015.

PANTHAR - 'Ghost Rocket'

GOTH NEW WAVE PUNK ROCK

Synth punk rock with a pinch of the 80's. Great guitar with an even greater bass accompaniment. The vocals invigorate the whole track.
